 When nine-year-old Sophia Mengel wrote a letter to Santa Claus, she could have never imagined it would end up in the hands of a man from a completely different country. But much like Santa Claus, this man gave her all she had asked for in the letter.

Sophia Mengel, a nine-year-old Austrian girl, wrote a letter to Santa Claus and attached it to a balloon. The balloon flew far, far away until it inexplicably landed on a farm in Karachay-Cherkessia, a Russian ethnic republic. The man did not understand the letter because it was in German, so he sought help online to translate it.

Then, he figured out what it said: she wanted a princess dress and a hoverboard, among other things. The man started a fundraiser and contacted Sophia's parents to make her Christmas wish come true. Sophia got her presents and the story went viral.

A Brave Little Girl

Lexi’s mother was driving the family back to their home in Prince George, British Columbia when she fell asleep at the wheel, causing the car to plunge a 39-feet embankment. The car was left upside down with all passengers inside. Since she couldn’t wake her mother up, Lexi unbuckled her harness, walked up to the highway, and started signaling passing drivers for help.

It turns out that both her mother and brother were in terrible shape. Her mother had to be resuscitated and was rushed to the hospital. For her courage and quick wit, she was greeted at the Edmonton police headquarters and was awarded a bronze medal by the Royal Canadian Humane Association.

A Good Heart

Walter had to walk an unbelievable 20 miles to work as a mover because his car broke down. He had no money to repair it because he lost it all in hurricane Katrina, so his only choice to feed his family was to walk. About 14 miles into his walk, the cops stopped him.

When Walter explained to them what he was doing, they were touched by his story and decided to get him breakfast and drive him to work. Afterward, his story became viral and his boss even bought him a car so he wouldn't have to walk anymore.
