Having to walk alone in the middle of the night is scary enough, but also being stopped by the police while doing so can be a terrifying experience. This is what happened to Walter Carr, and what the cops did next ended up changing his life.
A Good Heart
Walter had to walk an unbelievable 20 miles to work as a mover because his car broke down. He had no money to repair it because he lost it all in hurricane Katrina, so his only choice to feed his family was to walk. About 14 miles into his walk, the cops stopped him.
When Walter explained to them what he was doing, they were touched by his story and decided to get him breakfast and drive him to work. Afterward, his story became viral and his boss even bought him a car so he wouldn't have to walk anymore.
